As is so often the case with boats, there can be a number of second order considerations so if you’re contemplating a bow thruster or stern thruster installation do get in touch – we’ll be delighted to help identify the right solution for you.
Are you considering a bow thruster and stern thruster installation?
It’s no secret that boats are getting longer and higher. Increased windage means tight marinas can quickly become a major challenge. At best the result is stressful, at worst the ordeal of getting in and out of harbour ruins the enjoyment for everyone onboard. That’s why we’re being asked to install more bow thrusters and stern thrusters than ever.
At Mountbatten Boathouse our longstanding relationships with market leaders Vetus, Sleipner and Lewmar mean we have options for every scenario. Traditional tunnel thrusters remain the most common installation, however external pod thrusters are quickly gaining in popularity and retractable thrusters can be a great option too.
Thrusters place big demands on a vessels power supply so for a safe installation all elements must be properly specified. Our team understand exactly what is required and will ensure appropriately sized cables, fuses and breakers are all in place. We will also advise on any additional battery and charging equipment that may be needed.
