marine plumbing services in Plymouth
It might not be glamorous but plumbing, tanks, sanitary equipment, skin fittings and seacocks are among the most important bits of equipment in the boat. Key to keeping seawater out and other fluids in, any failure can be catastrophic.
We embrace the use of modern materials so whilst we still use a lot of bronze and brass, we also supply and fit Tru-Design composite skin fittings and seacocks. Similarly, whilst we are happy to work with stainless steel, our rotomoulded tanks options from Vetus and Tek-Tanks are often now the better choice. A custom made Tek-Tank uses space very efficiently making them an especially good choice for retro-fit applications such as holding tanks. Perfectly suited to fresh, black and grey water as well as diesel fuel tanks (not petrol), they are strong, long lasting, impervious to odours and suffer less condensation than steel. For fuel tanks this reduces the risk of diesel bug formation, cases of which have surged with increased bio-fuel content.
This really is an area of maintenance where prevention is better than any cure; our team are always happy to discuss any concerns or survey findings and formulate sensible solutions.
