Nothing removes the veneer of glamour from boat ownership quite as effectively as a freezing Sunday scraping a slimy hull, followed by a race to paint the boat (and probably yourself) in the short gap between the condensation clearing and your hands going numb or the heavens opening to undo all your good work. Want to treat your boat to some polish too? Better find another spare weekend, keeping everything crossed that it won’t be raining/snowing/howling (delete as appropriate).
